I love Chipmunks.

Went to Pyramid yesterday with the Ms. T and the class to watch Enchanted. It's kinda good I guess. Laughed a lot, especially when she was calling out the animals. LOL Irene was practically singing along in the cinema. The movie has really good music!

So Close - Jon McLaughlin <3
Awesome!!!

We're suppose to write a review on this movie. But I really don't know what to write about it! It's very predictable. And it's so...DISNEY. Well, what can I expect from a movie directed by someone who has so many Disney movies in his resume. (e.g. A Goofy Movie, Tarzan) Need I say more?

But I really didn't expect the humour in the movie. It wasn't lame, umm...at least not for me. And if I can hear laughter echoing through the whole cinema, then it's really good. On top of that, Qiki sat next to me and she was practically going crazy laughing! But Ms. T didn't like it though. I heard she was throwing popcorns to people! XD

Ok. So who's my favourite character in the movie? McDreamy? No! EWWW. It's Pip, the chipmunk, of course! LOL It was sooo funny watching him immitating the evil Queen and Giselle, especially when he sucked in his belly to show a small waist. Haha! Sooooooooo cute!!!

Overall, I would rate the movie...a B+? I don't know. No 'A' from me 'cause it's too predictable, and too many fairy tale 'must-haves'. Pretty maiden, evil stepmother, poison apples, talking animals. Shocked Oh well, it did have a "Modern Day Fairy Tale" tagline.

I would have loved a surprise from the movie. A different kind of fairy tale. Like, The Princess Diaries.

Ok. I've gotta go now. I have a LAN interview later at 2pm. They want to know more about our programme to keep ensuring that our programme and degree should be recognized by the Government. Thank God I'm gonna be interviewed in a group! LOL Most of the other people will be interviewed individually. Haha.

And before you leave, watch this video! An acoustic version of Britney Spears' Gimme More. AWESOME!!!

Music makes you lose control.

I can't stop listening to music these days, either a CD or the radio. I just can't stand the silence, especially when I'm alone in my room. And nowadays, I'm really into acoustic music! I think this started since the Hillsong Conference last year. I just loooove the acoustic guitar!!!

I'm sure you've heard about the "Live & Loud" thing happening in KL, right? Well, acoustic night was on last Thursday. JAMES MORRISON was there!!! And Nur Balqies Arafia a.k.a. Qiki went for free!!! I sooooo wanted her to help me get a free ticket. But 'cause her cousin got it for her. So...haih. What to do??? cry

Well, at least he only sang three songs, or so I heard. And Dayang Nurfaizah performed on the same night as well. Hurmph Errrrrrr...

So, did you watch the Miss World contest? Go Deborah Henry!!! She made us proud. TOP 16! Good job! Although everyone's kinda "sweating" about Miss China winning, but we can't deny that she gave a really good answer. Really. And she's so pretty, and tall!

But I still love Deborah Henry. Go go go! XD

You know...I was THIS close to getting a picture with her in college a couple of months ago. But then again, I wouldn't really want a picture with me standing next to her, 'cause I would feel like the ugliest person on earth! >.<

Gotta go! Got tons of assignments due at the same time! Well...almost. And tomorrow we're gonna watch Enchanted at Pyramid. Doing a movie review. Have you seen it? Is it worth it? At least it's a simple movie. Easier to do the review! LOL

Bye!

Movies.

I'm sorry if you all think my blog is boring, 'cause I don't have many things to blog about. I just need you all to liven up my blog by making noise in my tag-board! =D

Last week, we watched Breakfast at Tiffany's in class, starring Audrey Hepburn and a cute guy who's no longer walking this earth. >.<

Audrey Hepburn is sooo pweeety! No wonder she's the style icon of the 50's and 60's.

We went to Sunway Pyramid yesterday to celebrate my Dad's birthday. Mom wanted to shop for some stuff in the new Jusco. 0.0 I was kinda surprised that she wanted to go there because she doesn't really like going to Pyramid.

So we were walking around and we came to the electrical appliances area. I was admiring all the LCD and Plasma TVs. 42"...60"...and what looked like 100". They were playing some nature videos like what they usually do, or some channels on Astro. And then, I came to the LG section...

and guess what? I saw someone singing/dancing on stage...

...could it be...

...yes! It was Rain! LOL My uncle just rolled his eyes and left me there, while they looked and some other stuff. LOL I wasn't the only one watching, ok? Some "lala" guys walked passed and stopped to watch too! Too bad there weren't any sound =(

I didn't managed to watch the whole thing. I hope it wasn't a concert or something! >.<

Watched Disturbia went we got home. My uncle brought his amazing collection of DVDs again. =D It's a good movie! Funny at the beginning, especially Shia Lebouf's Korean buddy in the movie. K.O.R.E.A.N.. But too bad he's not that cute. =P Very thrilling too!

During class this morning, we watched Pan's Labyrinth. I didn't know it was a Spanish movie. I've always thought it was in English. But it's a really creepy and brutal movie, especially when the way the Captain killed people. During the gan jiong scenes, the whole class was practically covering their faces and screaming and what not. LOL

Imagine what it would be like if we were to watch a horror movie in class! =S

YAY!!! I'm finally gonna get the Snow Queen full series DVD from Mei Yie tomorrow! Aaaaah! Can't wait! So not nice to watch it on TV 'cause of the Chinese dubbing and all...

Weeeee! Ok, have to go to class soon.

Take care, people!

Assigned.

Got slapped with all our assignments today. So, let's see, I currently have umm...8 assignments! Not including Economics. Sigh. Well, that's what you get with 5 subjects cramped into 3 months.

But now, for Media Appreciation, we're not forced to make a movie only, we can do commercials, public service announcements, and even MUSIC VIDEOS! We're definitely doing a music video and MOST probably using OneRepublic's "Apologize" song! LOL Love that song! You should search for a video of that song in YouTube, made by some random guy. Super awesome! Very professionally done. =D Or just watching it in Nabilah's blog.

More...we have movie, magazine and album reviews to do! Our class is going to Mid Valley next Tuesday to watch a movie after class. It's part of our tutorial. =D But not all of us are watching the same movie though. More than three-quarter of the class want to Enchanted, but I wanna watch The Game Plan! Come on, it's The Rock! I really wanna see him dance ballet in the movie! LOL

And for our Moral group project, we plan to go to an orphanage an sing Christmas carols to the kids. =) 'Cause our project is due close to Christmas. Can't wait! But we need a guitarist though. Hehe, anyone care to volunteer??? =P

I haven't got anymore Korean dramas to watch every day, except for Spring Waltz. 'Cause Snow Queen ended already...=( And I cried like crazy (not because the show ended la, of course!)...enough said.

That's all about the last couple of days. Qiki's babbling on about something next to me. I better stop now...bye!!!

Dr. Caligari.

I mentioned in one of my earlier blog entries about a subject we have this semester, Media Appreciation. For this subject, we watched quite a few things in class this week.

On Monday, we watched "The Day After Tomorrow" on DVD. Then, we saw the making of that movie on Tuesday, which was really cool! Most of the scenes were practically shot in a huge warehouse, especially the scenes with all the disasters happening.

They built parts of New York city, the public library and etc. We saw how they did the hail storm, which were basically plastic bubbles. But the bubbles bounced really high when they hit the ground, so chunks of real ice were used. And on a scene where the few tornados were wrecking Hollywood, they actually shut down the whole street of Hollywood to film that. COOL. Now that's what we call big budget movies!

And one of the crew mentioned that when they were wrapping up after filming some important scenes, everyone was so excited, someone called her and pointed at yards and yards of film spilled all over the ground. >.< Poor thing! So it was pretty cool watching an hour of how they filmed this sci-fi movie.

Yesterday was really interesting. Ms. T decided to show us one of the first movies ever made, "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari". You can find this movie in YouTube. It's a silent movie, and we've never actually seen a silent movie before other than Charlie Chaplin, especially the really original ones. Although it was kinda confusing most of the times and the video was REALLY blur, we should respect this movie because it's pretty long for one of the first movies, about 50 minutes. T

he movie is about a guy, Francis, who falls in love with a girl named Jane. Another guy, named Alan, also falls in love with her. He starts telling this guy, Dr. Olsen, the story of him and the girl. The head of a mental institution, Dr. Caligari, had a somnambulist (don't ask me what this means, I think it's a zombie-like thing), named Cesare, kept in his house. One day, Dr. Caligari wakes Cesare up, and the people made him predict their deaths. He said that Alan would die at dawn. And he did.

It seemed as though Cesare murdered him. Then, another suspect was caught. Then, Cesare captured Jane, wanted to murder her but couldn't. And Dr. Caligari was also suspected to be behind the whole thing. Francis was like the investigator in the movie. Bla bla bla...it got pretty confusing, especially during the climax when all the documents in Dr. Caligari's office were revealed. We couldn't read a single word at all because it was really REALLY blur. You guys know how silent movies are right? You see the motion and hear background music, the characters talk but you can't hear them, then a slide with words comes on, then another scene, then another slide, and etc.

Then...suddenly...the movie shifted to present. Francis asked Jane to marry him, but she couldn't because she was "of royal blood". It turned out the whole things was just Francis' imagination. They were all patients of a mental institution, but Dr. Caligari was really the head. Even the so-called somnambulist, Cesare, was one of the patients. =__= The movie was kinda scary at times because the characters had super thick make-up and they were freaky-looking. We kept making fun of Cesare LOL, 'cause he's really tall and the way he stood was really um...proper. We were supposed to pronounce his name as 'se-sah-reh', but Irene kept calling him 'kay-se-ree', the guys called him 'chee-sair', LOL =___="

I'm surprised we actually went through the whole movie because it seemed boring in the beginning. Next week, we're gonna watch "The Incredibles" and maybe the first movie EVER made, "The Factory Workers", which is a 10 minute movie showing people exiting a factory. That's all. But thousands of people flocked to the premiere of this movie because it's going down in the history of mankind and film-making! Can't wait!

And to think that we've had enough movies, we have to watch another movie for a Social Psychology assignment. Busy, busy, busy semester!

I'm legal.

Yesterday was my FIRST birthday that was on a school day, or should I say "college day". For the past years my birthday has always been on a school holiday. Well, last year I was in school on my birthday, but it was a week before SPM. So, I couldn't really enjoy. =.=

Thanks for all the birthday SMS-es some of you sent, especially those who were really on time! =D Basically most of them said something like "Happy 18th! You're old already!!!" LOL

And thanks for all the birthday wishes I got in college, the unforgettable one would be what one of the guys said, "Happy Birthday! You're legal to be a porn star now!" Riiiiight...what a way to say it.

Qiki, Nabilah and Mini surprised me with cupcakes!
They're really delicious!!! Thank you guys!

A few of them even had tiny butterflies on them. So cute!
Non-edible, of course.

Then, Ammie took me to dinner, along with Ee Leen, Jon, Cax, and Charlotte! It's been so long since we've seen Lotte! Good to have her with us. We ate at Secret Recipe. LOL BROWNIIEEEEESSSSSS...But then Ee Leen remembered, we should have gone to Swensen's, haha. Earthquake Day! But nevermind lah, we shall wait for our "ice-cream provider" to come back! =P

And then...they surprised me with thissssssss!!!

XD Thank you Ee Leen, Ammie, Melissa, Amanda, Pei Yi, Charis, Joy, Chloe, Jade Ng, Sapphira, Jade Ho, Tze Mien, Li Teng, Jon, Shen Yi, Chris, Caxton, C.Ngiam, and Charlotte!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Okay. That's all about my birthday...

Bye!!!

Semester 3.

Semester 3...I hope it's gonna be the best semester!

Subjects:
Media Appreciation
Social Psychology
English for College Studies III (IELTS)
Principles of Economics
Moral Education

Media Appreciation is cool because we have Ms. T again! And guess what, we have to make another movie for this subject. AAAAH!!! And to think that we have had enough from our last project. But this time, we can choose to react a small part of a famous movie. *Note to self: Start doing project earlier!* We also get to go for movie outing to review the latest movies, review magazine articles, and also watch movies during tutorials occasionally!

Social Psychology is something like Human Communication I think. Our lecturer is nice. And I love our ECS3 lecturer, Dr. Vijaya. During the first class today, we discussed a lot of current affairs. We'll be learning how to conduct a research and write thesis, research papers, and etc. We get to be small journalists now! =D

Thank God Thursday's Deepavali, because we have 7 hours of class, with only an hour break. And that includes 3 hours of Moral STRAIGHT. UGH. Like Moral Education makes a difference to what's happening in the world today. 0.0

Oh! And thanks to MISS NUR NABILAH @ TAN WEN CHEEN, I got free Guest Passes from True Fitness for a week! If my Mom says it's ok, then I'll go try it out. Just hope that they won't pester me non-stop with phone calls to join their gym. The stupid guy who called me yesterday to "inform" me about this was soooooooo annoying, especially with his stupid sarcasm. If he continues to talk to clients/customers like that, he'll definitely be getting a tight slap from someone. >.<

Can't wait to continue with my Snow Queen tonight!!! Hyun Bin is so HOT! (But I still love Rain, ok? =p)

Bye!

WHY?!?!?!?!?!

Why is your Promo Tour on a Friday NIGHT?!?!?!?! crycrycry Although you come twice a year, EVERY YEAR, I never get to go! Even the "Heroes of the Earth" concert on March this year, I missed it! WHY?!?!?!?!???!!!

Semester 3 has just begun! We have the most subjects this semester, but it is the shortest one. We graduate our Foundation year on the beginning of February instead of the end. So this time it's only 3 months. And then we'll go IMMEDIATELY to Degree, literally IMMEDIATELY.

Let's see, our breaks this semester sucks BECAUSE...
We have Mid-semester breaks on Christmas week, but we need to study for our Mid-terms on New Year's Week! And study leave for Final exams are only 2 DAYS. Hurmph

Sigh...at least we'll have Prom and Graduation Night to look forward to! XD
